If you have tile floors you MUST HAVE THESE!For years I have been cleaning my tile floors with Magic Erasers. They’re the only thing I’ve found (other than professional-strength steam cleaning) that actually gets tile clean. When I clean all of my tile floors it takes hours on my hands and knees and a large box of the sponge-sized Magic Erasers. It is a horrible, tedious task.I recently had my floors professionally cleaned with high-pressure steam. When the salesman came to demonstrate how clean they could get my floors he used a Magic Eraser to show the potential. I told him that was what I used but that I was tired of the effort to continue to do it by hand. He told me that the erasers were now available in mop-head sizes. Although I hired them to clean my floors, I still bought this package of eraser sponges.The sponge attaches to a mop head with a single strip of sticky tape that goes down the center of the back side of the sponge. The idea is to tape this onto a flat mop head. I had a spare flat mop head (they’re easy to acquire at most big box or hardware stores). I didn’t think the single row of tape would hold the sides of the sponge down well enough so I added a strip of heavy double-sided tape on each side of the tape provided then pushed the sponge onto the mop head. Where had this solution been all these years? I tried out the new mop at a different property with tile floors and it did very well. The effort to clean the floors was substantially reduced and the sponge barely showed any degradation from use. Cleaning the same amount of flooring would typically have eaten up several of the small sponges.I’m going to be looking for a short-handled flat mop for cleaning showers and tubs.This is a game changer. The durability of the mop head provides a greater value versus buying lots of small sponges.
